Hello and Thank You for coming to my web site.
I am a British Wheel Of Yoga Teacher and I qualified in 1993, at the time I
was working in Social Services as a Home Care Organiser, you can imagine the
pressure, and it was not the type of work that is conducive to Yoga , eventually
we managed to part company and I have never looked back. I am a very practical
person in that whilst I was deliberating my future I took some more
qualifications, Massage, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage, the combination
has given me a career.
I am still working for the Local Authority but in a different capacity.
I teach Yoga, to different groups within North Tyneside, ranging from Mental
Health, to Family Learning, I also mix and match and create taster sessions that
combine Yoga with Indian Head Massage, or Aromatherapy these sessions last for a
couple of hours and are very flexible. I am forever thinking up new plans and
ideas to keep the groups interested and focused.
With another friend and colleague Irene Brown, British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, we
deliver all day workshops. These range from Yoga and Indian Head Massage, or
Tibetan Foot Massage or Chanting, we always have a Christmas Workshop that
includes Carols, Claret and Cake, but also Yoga!
How I came To Writing or how writing came to me!
I have always been interested in writing in fact in my younger days I worked
for a famous writer Lady Antonia Fraser.
A few years ago it occurred to me how difficult it was always trying to find
meditation and relaxation material. I had loads of pieces taken out of
magazines, given by other Yoga teachers etc, but what I needed was a
compilation, in a handy book that would give me 30 weeks of term time where I
could just pick up and go.
I looked around and couldn’t find anything appropriate so I began to sit down
and write
Finally I have been married for almost 40 years, (I was a child bride) my sons are away
from home, but I am more busy than ever, to me Yoga is a way of life, it is
neither a religion nor a cult. It is something I do as part of my life, not in
place of life.
People say to me oh, you teach Yoga you must be a very calm, quiet relaxed
person, I usually answer why? On the contrary I am noisy, boisterous, upfront,
sometimes outspoken, definitely walk my talk, and you get what you see, it’s
easier to be honest, than always sitting on the fence.
I also eat red meat, drink red wine, (sometimes too much,) and do everything in
moderation; I have met a lot of people who think you should be some kind of
special person when you practice Yoga.
For me Yoga is just another part of me, because I love Nature and the universe
doesn’t mean I have to shout that from the rooftops, it’s just another thing you
do which educates your mind, body and spirit, in other words it enables you to
think for yourself on all levels, and become aware there is no separation.
Masters, Gurus, and Leaders, My own opinion is beware of men in robes unless
they lived 2000 years ago.
You are your own Guru, because only you know yourself.
